Amos Oz
Amos Oz was born in 1939 and carved out an extraordinary body of short stories,novels and essays focussing on the contemporary Israeli experience. A passionate advocate of a two-state solution with Palestine,Oz rocketed into the limelight with his 1968 novel My Michael and became globally-recognised in 2002 with his complex autobiographical account A Tale of Love and Darkness. He died in 2018.
